Karlie Kloss graces the cover of Glamour’s September issue and as I’m reading this it hits me—Karlie is the ultimate #WCW. I’ve been a fan of Karlie for almost a year now. At first, it was a superficial crush. She’s cute, BFFs with Taylor Swift and is from St. Louis. At this point, I had lived in Missouri for almost 3 years, and I had this crazy dream that I would casually run into Karlie in STL, we would hit it off and I would become BFFs with her and Taylor. It’s crazy, but I’m still holding out hope. Ha.
I’ve since learned that she is so much more than a cute face. I’ve seen her referred to on social media as a ray of sunshine and I couldn’t agree with that more. One can only hope to be as kind, caring and loving as Karlie Kloss. Karlie has been the face of L’Oreal, Diane von Furstenberg, Joe Fresh, Donna Karan, Lacoste, Lavin and so many other fashion campaigns on top of being a (now retired) Victoria’s Secret Angel. I look forward to seeing more of Karlie’s modeling work in the future.
She’s also a family first kind of gal. She spends a lot of time with her sisters and family. According to Glamour Magazine, Karlie used to downgrade the first class plane tickets given to her by modeling agencies to coach tickets and use the extra points/money to fly her family with her. By 2012, she was able to fly the entire Kloss fam to Denmark.
She loves to bake and created Karlie’s Kookies during Fashion Week in 2012. These cookies are gluten-free and dairy-free and the best part about them is that the proceeds help to feed children in need. For every cookie purchased, FEED Project donates 10 school lunches around the world. You can find Karlie’s Kookies at Momofuku Milk Bar in New York City. I’ve had one and they are pretty tasty.
Recently, Karlie started a YouTube Channel called Klossy.
In her intro video, Karlie said she is always in front of the camera and now she wants to show viewers footage from her camera and her point of view. So far, there have been behind the scenes videos of Paris Fashion Week, throwing the first pitch at a Cardinals game and participating in the Make a Wish Foundation amongst other things. There is a new video every week and it’s fabulous.
Karlie also started the Kode with Karlie scholarship after learning how to do computer coding. She treats the winners to full tuition at the Flatiron School for a summer class to learn how to code.
Frequently, Karlie shows up to class herself. She must really enjoy school as she’s enrolled at NYU for the fall semester. Shout out to all those lucky freshman who showed up to the first day of class and saw Karlie Kloss.
Last but not least, Karlie has the ultimate squad. From Taylor Swift to all the Victoria Secret models, she has quite the group of friends. She was even on the cover of Vogue with Taylor. The ultimate goal is to be on the cover of Vogue with your best friend. #squadgoals
Karlie is a beautiful person both inside and out making her the ultimate #wcw this week.
