This weekend, I headed out on a (cheap) flight to Glasgow, Scotland for some rainy adventures. With only two weeks left in my trip abroad, it was time to finish up my last trips and get ready to say goodbye. But enough about that, here’s Scotland for you!
I spent an entire weekend in Scotland, but I only ended up heading out two of the four days due to weather. My first day out was Saturday, the same day that I was heading to see CHVRCHES at their first hometown show in 18 months.
I ended up walking the 3 miles (UGH) to the venue, seeing a lot of sights along the way. I didn’t want to be late, but I made a mental note to stop and see everything the next day.
The concert was amazing. I saw CHVRCHES once before back in 2014, but this time was 100x better. They definitely gave their all for the first hometown show in a long time, and being on the barricade was an absolute dream.
Honestly, if you check out one new band this year, make it CHVRCHES. They’re really eclectic and if you like electronic music of any sort, you’re gonna love them. Anyway…
I ended up walking around Glasgow the next day; I walked a total of 17 miles (!!) and passed out by the time I got back to my hostel, but I saw so many amazing and cool things around the city.
I ended up at the University of Glasgow to get my dad a sweatshirt and walked around the campus for a while since the sun decided to make an appearance between rainy periods.
I wandered around all around the city, taking pictures of all the cool sights. I even ended up in the shopping district where I saw a band playing drums and the bagpipes.
I saw so much of this beautiful city, but there was still so much left to see.
Glasgow is filled with so much life and history. If you’re ever looking for a place to visit across the pond, this is the place to go.
