Mark Ruffalo took our hearts at a young age in the 2004 film “13 going on 30” and has continued being in the spotlight, most recently as Dr. Bruce Banner in the 2015 “Avengers: Age of Ultron”. Other than just acting Mark is also a director, producer, and humanitarian. Not to mention he looks great doing it, especially for being 48 years old.
Now Mark has already proved himself to be a spectacular actor receiving awards for both his acting and producing so I wont focus to much on that amazing part of him. Mark came back onto my radar during the interviews and promotion he did for “Infinitely Polar Bear”. More specifically, the June 2015 Rolling Stones Article “12 Things You Learn Hanging Out With Mark Ruffalo”. Would recommend a read if you want a beautiful insight into his world with a fair warning that you may fall in love. In the interview he spoke about his struggles with anxiety. I thought this was amazing, a celebrity being so open with mental illness and how he deals with it. He explains that he has been practicing meditation for 7 years providing him with an enormous amount of hope.
Mark Ruffalo is so down to earth, which could be because his fame came relatively late in life. He uses his influence to help the world he so obviously cares so much about. My favorite is when he made headlines by publishing a beautiful response to individuals who say they are not feminists. It was a reblog of a response from Libby Anne Bruce that listed all the many achievements of feminism and shuts down the opposition, “When you grin with your cutesy sign about how you’re not a feminist, you ignorantly spit on the sacred struggle of the past 200 years. You bite the hand that has fed you freedom, safety and a voice. In short, kiss my ass, you ignorant little jerks.”
Mark has also written for the Guardian in support of the Occupy Wall Street movement and is loudly pro choice. He is a part of The Solutions Project, a project created by prominent figures in science, business, and entertainment working towards 100% renewable energy in the United States and writes many of the articles posted on their website. He is the head of Water Defense, a non-profit organization dedicated to clean water. Most famously, Mark is anti-fracking and has been named by New York Magazine as “anti-frackings first famous face”. He has hosted rallies and even protested at the white house against the gulf pipeline. In addition to being a famous celebrity who is simultaneously saving the world he also has one of the cutest families in Hollywood. He has been married to Sunrise Coigney since 2000 and they have three gorgeous children together (Keen, Bella & Odette).
How could you not be in love with him???
