Get to know Pamela and her art below!

How old were you when you started drawing?

I honestly don’t remember! Many artists say this, but I don’t really remember a time when I got into it. I’ve just kind of always liked drawing. Every little kid enjoys to doodle around, and I guess I just never stopped.

What inspires you to draw?

A whole lot of things. Various artists, celebrities, things surrounding me. I follow a lot of artists on Instagram and tumblr, and very often I see other peoples’ works and get a little creative. Often I see paintings or comics, or generally styles that are out of my league, but they give me inspiration to recreate something alike – in my own style.

How did you come up with your drawing style?

I can confidently say that my style have changed a lot in the past few years, and it continues to change as I go. I’m not really sure if I’m fully satisfied everytime, because it feels like things don’t turn out the same way, but it’s okay you know? We all learn new things along the way.

A few things although that I know I’ve settled for are thin, a little messy lines and a soft colouring. I feel like I can’t properly finish a piece without a nice touch of well blended shadows and highlights. I guess you could say that I just keep trying new things all the time and settle for what feels right. Nothing is really wrong when it comes to art.

How did you become a 1d fan?

This question can make me go on for ages haha, but I’m gonna keep it short. Back in 2010, I was a huge McFly fan (and I still am), and as many other fans I was stuck on Twitter day in and day out. I followed mainly British people, to keep myself updated on McFly and the football teams that I support. And one thing I kept seeing people talk about was One Direction, a band that apparently was on the X Factor. Curious as I was, I gave them a fair try and went to YouTube, checked them out and….well I was stuck. It’s kinda fun to think of now, considering it was their Halloween performance that I watched since it was the newest video of them then, but something about them just felt right. And here I am, five years later, still fully dedicated haha.

You’ve drawn some Harry Potter AU – who is your favorite HP character?

I honestly had to think about this one for a while because I feel like all the characters have a special place in my heart, I could sit for hours and talk about why each character is so special. But I have to say Hagrid. I feel like he’s a really caring and loving person, he’s always there for Harry, Hermione and Ron (like he’s the one who always drops the hints to them). I especially love the scene where he meets Harry for the first time, bringing him that cake and all.

What’s your favorite thing about your talent?

I wouldn’t call it a talent, I’d say it’s the result of hard work paying off. Many people say “Oh I wish I had your talent”, but anyone can. You just gotta put a lot of time and not give up. But I think it’s the fact that I can bring my imagination to life, watch a silly idea turn into something I can be proud of. It’s a good escape when you need a little time off too.

What is your favorite piece of One Direction art that you’ve done?

I think it’s gotta be the digital painting of Harry in a rainbow shirt that I made recently. It’s not my regular cartoony style, but I love the way it turned out. Cartoon-wise, I really like the “Mythical Direction” drawings I’ve done, I think they’re kinda cool. (Shout out to my best friend Eline for the idea!)

What is your favorite piece of non- 1D art?

It’s definitely the one I made of Melanie Martinez, for the music video of her song Pity Party.

Who are your favorite fellow artists?

That list is long, I have so many friends in the artist community in the fandom that are such amazing artist, and I honestly don’t want to leave anybody out, so many people out there inspire me. But to just mention a few who I’ve been good friends with for a while and who mean a lot to me; artsbybau, theitchyarmpit, niallerby, smargo64, xzaidiax, thatniallers, pass-the-pencil, believeinbritboys, immortaliseme and xlilacnialldoex. These are all tumblr urls, by the way, so check them out!

What does fandom mean to you?

This fandom is one of the best things in my life to be honest. Here, I’ve made friends for life, found people who’ve become a big part of my life and whom I can share my life with, even though it’s through a chat. The feeling of having people out there feeling the same as you, the joy, happiness and feeling of being safe and sound that this band provides is nice, especially when it’s often made fun of in media – because we aren’t just some crazy teenage girls. We are a big family of beautiful people from all across the world, we work together to get each other through rough times, dramas and the joyful times, we vote and do everything to support the boys that changed our lives for the better. Being a part of such a huge fandom is a special experience for sure, we have our ups and downs, but at the end we are truly one big family. And I am happy to be a part of this.

Some artists use a pseudonym. Why don’t you?

I guess I’m more personal, I never really thought of a pseudonym when I started posting art. I guess some people know me as “harryflowerchild”, so you could say it’s some kind of pseudonym hahaha.

You can follow Pamela on Instagram and Twitter. You can purchase artwork from her at on RedBubble and Society6.

I’m a 26 year old working professional who fangirls in her free time, and not-so-free time, over One Direction, Ed Sheeran, 5SOS, Fleetwood Mac, Marvel and DC comics, and Harry Potter along with a plethora of other fangirl worthy topics. Writing and sharing stories is my passion and I hope to make a living out of it someday. I love classic rock, new rock, classic 80’s songs that inspire bad dance moves, books and movies galore. I didn’t choose the fangirl life, the fangirl life chose me.
