A school dance wasn’t a school dance until Lil Wayne, censored of course, was played and everybody found their way to the dance floor. Well, at least that’s how it went at my school.
Believe it or not, Lil Wayne has been in the music industry long before the 2000’s. He signed to his first label, Cash Money Records, in 1991 at the fresh age of 9. Yes, you read that correctly, NINE. Five years later, in 1996, Lil Wayne joined a new hip hop group called Hot Boys. While in that group, he worked along side Lil’ Doogie, Juvenile, and Young Turk. He has collaborated with many artists over the length of his career, a few being Chris Brown, Akon, and Kevin Rudolf. In 1999, Lil Wayne decided to do some projects of his own which led to Tha Block Is Hot, Lights Out, 500 Degreez, Tha Carter, Tha Carter II, Tha Carter III, Rebirth, I Am Not A Human Being, and Tha Carter IV being his most recent album. Tha Carter V is to be his next expected album, but no official release date has been set.
Lil Wayne has that distinct voice and look that everyone knows. Despite a few legal troubles along the way, Lil Wayne has not stopped doing what he loves. He continues to work hard releasing album after album and winning numerous awards. I’m just a fangirl from a small town with big dreams. When I’m not going to school you will find me drooling over Niall Horan or Harry Styles, it just depends on the day. I like to think I have a witty sense of humor, but like I said, that’s just me.
