The Internet: All About Looks

It’s all about looks this week on the internet. Let’s get started.

This week, the internet was blown away to find out that Kylie Jenner is charging too much for her infamous and hard to get a hold of lip kits. When Kylie first released these lip kits back in January of 2016, a lot of beauty bloggers and makeup gurus had nothing but great things to say about the formula of the matte lip-wear. It was true to the color swatch, it went on nice and smooth— it was an all around great product.
Some of these positive reviews have been changing since the Kylie Lip Kit adopted a new formula. Obviously, with a new formula, the new product is relatively different than the original. And people have clearly been noticing the changes. Beauty blogger, Stephanie Nicole, decided to review the new formula for Kylie Jenner’s lip kit. It’s a pretty thorough and truthful review; it’s definitely worth watching.

Now it’s up to you… which product are you going to buy?

After aimlessly scrolling through social media a few days ago, I found this cool throwback article that caught my attention. I grew up with 80’s rock and “hair bands” playing all throughout the house, thanks to my parents. So when I saw this article featuring KISS, I had to click on it. This article shows the 4 members of KISS getting ready for their shows backstage. It’s inevitable that there were several hours spent putting on their notorious looks. Not only are the pictures cool to look at, but the whole article is interesting as well. Paul, Gene, Ace, and Peter were masters at painting on their bold faces nearing the end of the 1970’s.

One of our favorite apps underwent a chic improvement on May 11th. Instagram now has a new logo and color scheme. They stated on their blog, “the simpler design puts more focus on your photos and videos without changing how you navigate the app.” With new change comes critique— some users like it, some don’t. But times are changing and we’re a fan of the new look. Nicely done, Instagram.

I’m just a fangirl from a small town with big dreams. When I’m not going to school you will find me drooling over Niall Horan or Harry Styles, it just depends on the day. I like to think I have a witty sense of humor, but like I said, that’s just me.
